AHOY there me hearties! It's Talk Like a Pirate Day!

Lets hear your best attempt...

... to talk like a pirate this Tuesday, 19th September 2017 for the International Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Join us onboard our Fraser Island and Whale watching experience  or our half day whale watching encounters for a day filled with fun and laughter! Our crew will help transform you to not only help you talk like a pirate, they will make you look like one too.

How to Celebrate?

  • Dress up like a swashbuckling pirate. Bonus points if you are able to carry a parrot or a monkey on your shoulder.
  • Talk like a pirate the whole day long. Add in a few grunts and growls and slur your words and call your friends “matey”
  • Share your favourite piratey jokes
  • Gather with friends on board Tasman Venture to celebrate the day in your piratey best!

You can also get on board to Talk Like a Pirate throughout September in an effort to help fundraise for Childhood Cancer Support who provide a home away from home for families. Childhood Cancer Support is a not-for-profit family focused charitable organisation providing free accommodation and support to regional families who have children living with cancer and are required to travel to Brisbane for ongoing treatment. They aim to take care of everything from accommodation, transport, emotional support, and at times, financial support.

Talk Like A Pirate Day is comin’, are you ready to pirate it up? We know that we’re going to!

The annual Paddle Out for the Whales is on this weekend!!!

Join us to celebrate the love...

Paddle Out for the Whales is an annual event held on the foreshore of Scarness in Hervey Bay. This event helps raise awareness of the many issues the whales are faced with today. During the paddle out, a minute silence will be held to recognise the importance of the ocean and the whales.

... grab a board and Paddle Out

Bring your SUP, kayak or blow up toy and join us in creating the biggest paddle out. Help send a message that as a community, we are not in support of whaling.

Prizes will be on offer for the most creative vessel. You are only limited by your imagination, so go get started and create yourself a winner!

There will also be a number of environmentally focussed workshops for children of all ages and live entertainment throughout the day.

Where: Scarness Foreshore (near Enzo's on the Beach)
When: Sunday 20 August 2017
Time: 8am - 11am
Paddle Out: 8.30am
Cost: FREE entry

Afternoon with the whales

After a morning of celebrating these majestic creatures, join Tasman Venture for our afternoon whale watching encounter from 1.30pm to witness their beauty first hand. Our cruise will spend the afternoon in Platypus Bay, the protected waters where the humpback whales stay and play before their long journey home.

Swim with whales on the west coast of Fraser Island

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to swim with whales? There is no need to imagine any further as you can now...

Swim with whales onboard Island Venture

Conditions this week have been amazing. Crystal clear waters have lead to multiple whale immersion opportunities where guests have entered our protected waters to swim with whales and view them from within their own natural environment (conditions permitting).

We have had a great number of whales in the bay this week showcasing a wide range of behaviours. Our guests have seen mum's nudging their calves closer to our vessels to show them off for all to see. This behaviour shows just how comfortable these humpback whales are with human interaction. We tend to say that the humpback whales enjoy people watching, just as much as we enjoy whale watching.

... and visit the remote west coast of Fraser Island

Not only have our Remote Fraser Island and Whale experience guests been up close and personal with these humpback whales, they also explored the picturesque Wathumba Creek (pictured below).

Here guests kayaked up the crystal clear waters and snorkelled the freshwater Wathumba Creek taking in the variety of fish and even the the resident turtle came over to say 'hello'.

We offer a variety of 2 day Fraser Island tour packages that also incorporate the eastern side of Fraser Island. Feel free to check these out!
