The annual Paddle Out for the Whales is on this weekend!!!
Join us to celebrate the love...
Paddle Out for the Whales is an annual event held on the foreshore of Scarness in Hervey Bay. This event helps raise awareness of the many issues the whales are faced with today. During the paddle out, a minute silence will be held to recognise the importance of the ocean and the whales.
... grab a board and Paddle Out
Bring your SUP, kayak or blow up toy and join us in creating the biggest paddle out. Help send a message that as a community, we are not in support of whaling.
Prizes will be on offer for the most creative vessel. You are only limited by your imagination, so go get started and create yourself a winner!
There will also be a number of environmentally focussed workshops for children of all ages and live entertainment throughout the day.
Where: Scarness Foreshore (near Enzo's on the Beach)
When: Sunday 20 August 2017
Time: 8am - 11am
Paddle Out: 8.30am
Cost: FREE entry
Afternoon with the whales
After a morning of celebrating these majestic creatures, join Tasman Venture for our afternoon whale watching encounter from 1.30pm to witness their beauty first hand. Our cruise will spend the afternoon in Platypus Bay, the protected waters where the humpback whales stay and play before their long journey home.
