Drive to the Fraser Coast
Hervey Bay is an easy 3-hour drive north of Queensland’s capital Brisbane, or a 2-hour drive from the Sunshine Coast (where you could fly into Maroochydore Airport).
On the drive north you will pass through Maryborough - one of Queensland’s oldest towns, rich in history and the birthplace of Mary Poppins author, P.L. Travers.
Hervey Bay is the perfect stop on your road trip up North, where you can tick off experiencing K’gari (previously Fraser Island) or whale watching.
