Booking these two one-day tours together gives you ample time to experience the island’s many natural wonders, famous icons and hidden gems over two days.

There’s no need to choose between the west or east side of K’gari when you can see both! We have partnered with our friends at K’gari Explorer Tours to offer you the convenience of booking both tours as part of a package.
On the Remote K’gari and Whales Experience you can expect to visit the west side of K’gari and spend time whale watching from our catamaran. On the K’gari Explorer Tour you will be travelling via 4×4 bus on the east side of K’gari ticking off some of the island’s most iconic spots.

Our Remote K’gari and Whales Experience tour will take you to up to three epic spots, Wathumba Creek, Awinya Creek and Bowarrady Creek as well as getting to see humpback whales up close and personal. This tour is by fast catamaran, getting you to the off-the-beaten-track places in K’gari that many never get to see.
Highlights of this tour include:

Each day our route can change up a bit, as we make sure we are visiting the different locations when the tides are in their favour. But don’t worry, the surprise just adds to the adventure. Our expert guides are the best in the business when it comes to whale sightings. So they’ll make a call based on the conditions and locations of the whales on when you will see them, they’ll let you know when to get the camera out!
This full-day tour departs from Hervey Bay Marina at 7:30am and returns at 4:30pm.
The K’gari Explorer Day Tour, led by K’gari Explorer Tours, will take you to the eastern side of K’gari on a purpose-built 4×4 bus. Take in the most famous sights of K’gari, ticking off bucket list items and experiencing driving on the sand.

Departing From
Our Half Day Whale Watch Encounter tour offers a guaranteed sightings policy, where you will receive an open dated return ticket if you do not see any whales. However, it is very uncommon to not see whales during the season dates.
No cancellation fee applies if the booking is cancelled more than 48 hours prior to departure time.
However, cancellation less than 48 hours of travel – 50% cancellation fee applies, and cancellation within 24 hours of travel (or no show) – 100% cancellation fee applies.
