Boarding & Access
At our boarding location here at the Great Sandy Straits Marina, Urangan, there is plenty of free parking close by to our vessels. You will find parking in two main car park locations as well as on street parking for larger vehicles.
Tasman Venture III and Pure Dive Vessels
On board; the Tasman Venture III and Pure Dive we have a few steps to navigate to get to the forward deck of each vessel and a flight of stairs to gain access to our upper decks. The vessels have large windows for viewing from the comfort of the main cabins & comfortable seating throughout. The vessels also have hazard markers and signs where necessary for added visibility.
On our day tours where guided shore excursions are included, we utilize one of three of our Amphibious SeaLegs vessels to tender guests safely to the beach. Guests are required to step from the main vessel and use a platform to get into the tender vessel. The amphibious vessels then use their wheels to drive up on the sand and lower down to allow guests safe exit onto the beach. A step is also provided to assist with disembarking from the tender vessel.
On our Full-Day Remote K’gari Experience we have guided shore excursions at a variety of locations including Wathumba Creek, Awinya Creek and Bowarrady Creek. At all of these locations we will be walking on predominantly soft sand. At Bowarrady Creek we offer a guided walk up a steep sand dune. This can be strenuous and challenging for some. All activities and experiences are optional and this should be kept in mind prior to commencing the climb.

*We recommend sensible footwear when on our vessels as the decks can be wet at times. When visiting the various locations on K’gari we encourage guests to discard their footwear onboard the boat as they will not be needed. This also assists with not transferring any bio-contaminants from footwear to the Island.
Vision & Hearing
Onboard tours our Skippers & Naturalist Guides offer expert commentary throughout the cruise. Our team often describes what our passengers are viewing as we move along or while we are observing the Humpback Whales or other marine life, and when we know we need to take extra time to paint a picture for our guest, we do so with audio aids such as microphones, speakers throughout the vessel and visual aids onboard. Tasman Venture III is fitted with a Television screen to display additional visual aids to enhance guests’ experiences.
