The Beauty of K'Gari
K'gari (formerly Fraser Island) is the world's largest sand island. Home to its iconic white sand beaches, crystal clear water and wonderful wildlife. Our tours visit the Western side of K'gari, a remote place on the island where many never venture to. For those who love to ditch the crowds and enjoy paradise without the queues. We'd love to show you our slice of paradise, our tours depart daily from Hervey Bay.
What a View!

From the bush to the beach, K’gari is alive with wildlife! 🐾🐦
Keep an eye out for dingoes, the island’s most iconic residents, wandering the dunes or leaving tracks in the sand. Look up and you might also spot White Bellied Sea Eagles, Whistling Kites, or flashes of blue from Azure Kingfishers darting through the trees.
Every day brings something new - a reminder that K’gari isn’t just paradise for people, but for the many native species that call this incredible place home.

Meet one of the locals you may just come across on our Full-Day Remote K’gari Experience: the green sea turtle. 🐢💚
Six of the world’s seven marine turtle species call these waters home, but green sea turtles are our regulars - gliding through the clear shallows like they own the place (which they really do)! Spotting one is extra special, knowing that only 1 in 1,000 hatchlings make it to adulthood… and turtles aren’t considered mature until they`re around 30 years old. Talk about beating the odds!
While sightings are never guaranteed, our crew know just where to look, so keep your eyes peeled - you never forget your first turtle encounter on K’gari.

K’gari’s waters are alive all year round, even outside whale season. 🐢🐬
From green sea turtles gliding through the shallows to playful bottlenose dolphins and graceful rays, there’s always something moving beneath the surface.
This place simply hums with life, with each day bringing its own surprises - and an unforgettable chance to connect with nature.

K’gari means `paradise`... a word gifted by the Butchulla people, the Traditional Owners and custodians of this remarkable island. 🌴
For the Butchulla people, K’gari is much more than the world’s largest sand island. It’s their homeland - a place that holds their history, their culture, and their future. Their connection to land and sea stretches back thousands of years and continues today through the practice of caring for Country.
The Butchulla people live by three enduring laws:
🖤 What is good for the land must come first.
💛 Do not take or touch what does not belong to you.
❤️ If you have plenty, you must share.
Before joining us on your Full-Day Remote K’gari Experience, we encourage you to learn about the Butchulla people, whose stories, wisdom and care for this land have shaped the island we know as paradise.
